Local News: Cops Probing Bago Teen ‘Rape’

Police investigators are looking into the reported rape of a 13-year old high school student after her grandmother overheard the discussion about the incident Wednesday last week.

The teenager, a resident of Bangga Cory in Brgy. Mansilingan, Bacolod City and whose identity was withheld, according to her grandmother, left their house last April 11, 2014 to attend a summer class in one of the national high schools in Bacolod.

However, the teenager failed to come home until April 16 with her friend, that’s when the grandmother overheard the conversation.

Local News: Reveler’s Body Found in Cave

The body of a 29-year old Sagaynon was found in a small cave in Brgy. Vito, Sunday morning, 14 days after he was declared missing by family.

Police probers identified the victim as Ignacio Pilapil alias Nasi, of Purok Laroca, Brgy. Vito in an advance state of decomposition. The body was reported by village head Nemesio Briones and was discovered inside a small cave located at Purok Star Apple, also in the same barangay.

Relatives told police authorities that Pilapil was last seen April 6 when he attended a revelry in a nearby purok and failed to return. The remains were immediately buried by the family; while the case is under investigation by Sagay City Police.

Local News: One Killed, Another Hurt in Road Mishap

A tricycle rider was killed, while a pedestrian was hurt in a separate road accidents Sunday in Sagay City and Candoni town.

Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office (NOPPO) reports identified the casualty as Nathaniel Sevillano Villanueva, 46, of Brgy. Bato whose tricycle accidentally crashed against a Toyota Tamaraw Wagon with plate number TSE 996 owned and driven by Hernane Panes Villanueva, 61, of Lacson St., Manapla.

The accident happened about 9PM, Sunday at Sitio Caridad, Brgy. Rafaela Barrera in Sagay City. Both vehicles were running along the national highway toward Escalante City when the collision took place.

Local News: Cauayan Man Shoots Another for Old Grudges

A 26-year old Cauayan resident was apprehended for allegedly shooting another person about 1AM, Tuesday due to past disagreements.

Johnber Bandong was rushed to a hospital facility in Kabankalan City after sustaining a single gunshot wound in the back from a .357 caliber handgun allegedly inflicted by Dejie Dado, of Brgy. Guiljungan Plaza.

Dado was brought to the police station by Chief Tanod Ferdinand Caendio Sr. along with the suspect’s handgun with one live ammunition and two empty shells.

Local News: 3 Stores Burglarized in Candoni

Three establishments in Candoni town were robbed within three hours by unidentified suspects, Tuesday stealing cash and valuables from the stores.

Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office (NOPPO) reports revealed that Nonoy Twin Store, Daisy Carenderia and Rujen General Merchandise & Agrivet Supply were entered by suspects about 12:30AM and 3:30AM

Nonoy Twin Store owned by Nelson and Jocelyn Elovera, of Brgy. West told police probers that the suspects took P4, 000 cash and assorted grocery items from their establishment by passing through the back wall made of plywood.

Six passengers of a Mitsubishi Adventure were hurt when their vehicle bumped against an electric post about 9AM, yesterday along the national highway of Kilometer 30 and 31, Brgy. XIII in Victorias City.

PSupt. Santiago Y. Rapiz, police chief reported that the vehicle bearing plate number FHP 472 driven by 63-year old Myrna Reynaldo, of United Roadside, Brgy. Tangub in Bacolod City was traveling from South to North of the highway when she tried to overtake another vehicle using the inner lane; however, due to the speed she’s taking and the slippery road, the driver lost control of the steering wheel causing the vehicle to swerve in the opposite lane and hit the concrete post.

Local News: MC-Rider Killed in Road Mishap

A rider was declared dead by attending physician after his motorcycle accidentally hit a parked vehicle along the higway of Purok Margarita in Brgy. Abuanan, Bago City about 12:20AM, yesterday.

Bago City Police report identified the victim as Darry Ramos, 28, of Sitio Carbaoan, Cadiz City who was running East to West along the highway when it accidentally bumped the car parked on the right side of the road facing West direction.

Ramos sustained serious head injuries and rushed to Bago City Hospital for medical treatment but was pronounced dead by doctors in the facility.

Police authorities are in pursuit of the other vehicle while follow-up probe is undergoing.

Meanwhile, over La Carlota City, a body was discovered by residence in the area of Brgy. 1, La Carlota City with multiple stab wounds on the body.

Local News: ‘1 of Big Shabu Suppliers’ Nabbed In a joint PDEA, NOPPO, Army, Himamylan City PNP Buy Bust

Three persons, one of them tagged by authorities as one of the big suppliers of illegal drugs in southern Negros Occidental, were arrested in a joint buy bust operation conducted by Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA), Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office (NOPPO), Philippine Army (PA) and Himamaylan City Police Station operatives about 10 o-clock Saturday morning.

NOPPO reported that operatives led by PDEA Intelligence Agent 1 John Carlo Dequiado, IO1 James Afuang, PSinsp. Erma Teoxon, Capt. Israel Oloan and Himamaylan City PNP director, PSupt. Simeon L. Gane Jr. busted the suspects inside Mary Pauline Hostel and Harry’s Travelers Inn in Barrangay 4, Himamaylan City.

Suspects Christopher Tagamolila, 37 years old, of Brgy. 5, Kabankalan; Rufa Gavaran, 23 of Brgy. Enclaro, Binalbagan and Brian Grancho, 21, Purok 9, Brgy. Aguisan in Himamaylan were arrested in the buy bust.

Tagamolila was the primary target of the anti-illegal drug operation, being "one of the big drug suppliers in southern Negros Occidental."

Local News: Watchman ‘Stabs’ Partner Dead

A subdivision watchman was arrested by police authorities in Silay City after he reportedly attacked his colleague about 6:55AM, Sunday in Brgy. 3.

Silay City Police report revealed Farly Tero, 22, of Purok Paghidaet, Brgy. 3 and watchman of Villa Emma Subdivision was pronounced dead by Dr. Sidney Iledan, of Teresita L. Jalandoni Memorial Provincial Hospital for sustaining multiple stab wounds in the body.

Initial investigation said, Tero was stabbed by fellow-watchman Renante Cartagena, 46, of Zone 5, Brgy. Mambulac and was collared by Jail Officer 2 Ronan dela Cruz Jr., of the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) in Brgy. Handumanan, Bacolod City.

Recovered from his possession was a 29-inch bolo with wooden scabbard and placed under the custody of Silay City Police Station.

Meanwhile, Marcelino Watan, 24, of Purok 6, Brgy. 1 in Kabankalan City sustained a single stab wound in the lower abdomen inflicted by unidentified suspect about 12:45AM, Sunday at Brgy. 4 Public Plaza.

Local News: Cop Killed by Own Gun; FA’s Seized in Oplan Bakal

A member of Sipalay City Police Station was accidentally killed allegedly with his issued firearm about 7:30AM, Sunday.

Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office (NOPPO) reports said PO2 Joery Ayo was declared dead on arrival by attending physicians at Sipalay City Infirmary after being hit by his 9mm caliber Glock 17 pistol with Serial Number PNP15395. He was found by members of Alert Team on duty inside the bunkhouse located at the back of the police station.

Dr. Roberto Ledesma performed the post mortem examination on the officer’s body to determine injuries causing his death. Ayo’s remains were brought to St. Peter Funeral Homes at Brgy. Mambaroto.

Members of the Scene of the Crime Operatives from NOPPO Criminal Laboratory is conducting follow-up investigation on the crime scene.

Local News: Farmer’s Son Killed in Grenade Explosion

A farmer’s son was killed when a fragmentation grenade accidentally exploded about 6PM, Tuesday at Brgy. Quezon in San Carlos City.

Police identified the casualty as Angelo Rebuton, of Purok Tambobo, Sitio Maglunod in Brgy. Quezon who was found dead near the rice field where the boy reportedly found the MK2 fragmentation grenade.

Reports added the boy discovered the bomb at the road near the field and accidentally discharged it. Recovered from the scene was an MK2 grenade clip and was placed under the custody of San Carlos City Police Station.

Meanwhile, police authorities in Moises Padilla revealed that a local was shot following a commotion that took place about 12:05AM, Tuesday at Brgy. Quentin Remo.

Local News: 35-y.o. Wife ‘Stabs’ Self

Police authorities in Hinoba-an and Manapla towna are looking into the alleged suicide by two persons in separate incidents this week.

Hinoba-an Police disclosed that a 35-year old wife whose identity is being withheld - a resident of Brgy. Bulwangan, stabbed herself in the stomach causing her to bleed.

She was rushed to the Eleuterio T. Decena Hospital in Brgy. Bacuyangan for medical treatment but was declared dead by attending physicians.

Local News: Himamaylan PNP DCOP Hurt in Road Mishap

Himamaylan City’s deputy chief of police was rushed to Our Lady of Mercy Hospital in Bacolod City after being hurt in a road accident about 8AM, Friday in Brgy. Caradio-an. Initial investigation said PSInsp. Antonio M. Talatala was driving his red and black colored XRM 125CC from South towards the North direction of the national road of Sitio Tuyuman when he miscalculated a hole at the center of the highway and fell.

He sustained injuries and under treatment at the said hospital facility.

Alert Team on duty led by PO3 Freddie Pabilona and Traffic Police, PO1 Rene Muñez conducted the initial investigation on the incident.

In another report, Benjie Floro, 34, of Brgy. Plaridel in Sagay City was allegedly stabbed by his cousin, Rigner Floro alias Bingho, 30, about 7PM, Sunday due to some misunderstanding.

Police authorities in Valladolid arrested a 33-year old woman and a teenager for alleged swindling in an entrapment operation about 2:45PM yesterday.

A Valladolid PNP report said, PCInsp. Luisito Acebuche, police chief led the arrest regarding complaints of swindling against a woman and the 16-year old girl whose names are being withheld.

The entrapment took place at Purok Katipunan in Brgy. Sagua Banwa, Valladolid.

Both were brought to the police station for investigation, while the filing of criminal charges before the Provincial Prosecutor’s Office against them are on.
