Local News: One Killed; 3 Injured in Silay Road Mishap

The driver of a motorcycle was killed while his back rider was injured when their vehicle bumped a Ford Everest about 4:30 p.m. Saturday along Hacienda Highway in Brgy. Lantad, Silay City.

Ryan Segurora, 19, of Hacienda Bias, Brgy. Guimbala-on in Silay was declared dead by attending physicians at Teresita Lopez Jalandoni Provincial Hospital for multiple injuries on the body following the collision. He was driving a Rusi motorcycle without plate number and with him was Ronil Soligo, of Bagumbong, Caloocan City who is still under medical treatment at the same hospital facility.

Local News: Cop Probes Complaint vs. Comelec Officer

Police authorities of Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) Station 1 are investigating charges lodged against a Comelec officer in Cadiz City for alleged illegal discharge of firearm and threat, early morning yesterday.

Initial reports disclosed that Joseph Nazareno, 41, of Lizares Subd., Taculing filed a complaint against Ribo Sorbito, Comelec Officer of Cadiz for allegedly pointing a gun at him about 12AM yesterday at corner Rosario-Locsin Sts. in Brgy. 38, Bacolod City.

SPO1 Dave Dollosa, React Team leader with investigator PO2 Jared Esquilla conducted an ocular investigation at the place of incident where they recovered one empty .45 caliber shell.

Local News: Ex-Sipalay Tanod Killed

A former village tanod was shot 11 a.m. Sunday at Brgy. Camindangan in Sipalay City.

Police report said Antonio Boliboli, 35, of Purok Malipayon, Brgy. Camindanagn was harvesting his coffee beans when unidentified person approached and shot him using an unknown caliber of firearm.

Investigators are conducting follow-up probe to identify the shooter and determine the motive of the incident.

Four bodies were recovered in different areas in Negros Occidental, Monday with two of them were reportedly fished out of Sagay City and Cauayan waters.

Police authorities in La Castellana town led by PO3 Pleve Jun Composa recovered the body of alias Libing, 50, at Brgy. Puso road about 4AM, Monday.

The victim was a native of Sitio Mamballo, Brgy. Quintin Remo in Moises Padilla and was found with a hack wound on the neck causing his death. Suspect was identified as Richard Clarion, 30, of Brgy. Puso and was reportedly found with blood stains on his hands by a witness.

A driver died on the spot, while another driver and four others were seriously injured when their motorcycles collided near the Isabela town proper yesterday afternoon.

PO3 Emmanuel Trinidad and PO1 Emry Cadujada of Isabela Police Station identified the fatality as Jay-ar Equilon of Barangay 5.

He was declared dead on arrival at the Ignacio Lacson Arroyo Sr. Memorial District Hospital also in the town.

They identified those seriuously injured as the other motorcycle’s driver Antonio Palma Jr, 26, of Brgy. San Agustin.

Local News: Security Guard Shoots Another Man

Local police authorities in Victorias City are in pursuit of a security guard detailed at Migan Farm compound in Brgy. 18-A for reportedly shooting a resident about 9AM, Wednesday.

Initial investigation by PO3s Allan Silverio and JR Olis identified the victim as Julieto Digmanoy, 55, of Hacienda Florencia, Brgy. 18-A who succumbed to a gunshot wound on the back allegedly inflicted by Security Guard Benjamin R. Calumpang and temporarily staying at the said compound.

Digmanoy was declared dead by attending physician at Kaayong Lawas Foundation Hospital.

Police authorities in Negros Occidental are still trying to establish the identify of suspects who shot dead a policeman while on board his motorcycle 2PM Saturday along the highway in Brgy. Palampas, San Carlos City.

SPO1 Agustilo Hulleza Jr., a member of the Toboso Police Station was shot by motorcycle-riding suspects.

He was in the back and the bullet went through his chest.

Cops are not discounting the angle it was related to the victim’s work as an intelligence officer.

Hulleza was pronounced dead by attending physician at San Carlos City Doctor’s Hospital.

A barangay head in Calatrava town was shot allegedly by members of the New People’s Army (NPA) about 8:45AM, Monday.

Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office (NOPPO) identified the victim as Fidel Añiñon, 63, newly-elected barangay captain was shot at Sitio Pesons, Brgy. Minautok, Calatrava by two unidentified armed men using a .45 caliber pistol.

The victim sustained gunshot wounds in the left leg, right side of his abdomen, back portion of his body, three bullet wounds on the right leg and a minor gunshot wound on the right face.

Police authorities in Talisay City are on follow-up operation to arrest possible suspects that robbed a lending collector about 10:30AM, Tuesday.

Initial investigation said Jerwell Dablo, 20, collector of Kinan Lending Incorporated with office at Brgy. Villamonte, Bacolod City was held-up by unidentified suspects at the vicinity of Hacienda Guinto in Brgy. Matab-ang.

Dablo told police that the suspect forcibly took his P4, 000.00 cash collection and XRM 125 motorcycle at knifepoint. The suspects remain at large.

Several sticks of suspected marijuana cigarettes were confiscated from a teenager inside a high school campus in Binalbagan town following the reports of the school administration.

PSInsp. John Ganzon, of Binalbagan Police Station responded a call for assistance from the Southern Negros College – High School Department administration about 2:25PM, Friday at Brgy. Teodoro resulting to the arrest of Arnel Serantes.

Serantes, 18, of Sitio Butong, Brgy. San Pedro was nabbed and confiscated from his possession were three rolled sticks of suspected marijuana and a small plastic containing the same suspected hemp.

Local News: 7 Hurt in Trike, Jeep Mishap

Seven people were hurt including the drivers of the tricycle and the Willy-type jeep in a vehicular accident about 9:30AM, Saturday along the national road at Hacienda Amparo, Brgy. Old Sagay.

Traffic reports identified the victims as: Roquita Sabala, 63, of Brgy. Old Sagay; Alicia Kugahit, 57, of Brgy. Lopez Jaena; Kith Contreras, 23, of Hacienda Amparo; Princess Ardemia, 13, of Purok Santan 2, Brgy. Old Sagay, all of them were passengers of the Honda TMX tricycle driven by Nino Pasaan, 24, of Sitio Quarry, Brgy. Rafaela Barrera, also in Sagay City.

Initial investigation said the tricycle was running from Old Sagay and swerved to the left side of the road causing his sidecar to hit the approaching Willy-type jeep driven by Emelio Aballe Jr.

Aballe and his passenger, Dante Flores, 27, of Brgy. Andres Bonifacio was also hurt due to the accident.

The operations and technical head of Cable TV Channel 40 (ONTV12), his female and male companions were killed, while three others were seriously injured, when his car and a double-tire mini bus collided head-on at about 3 in the morning yesterday along Lacson Street near Robinsons Place Bacolod in Brgy. Mandalagan, Bacolod City.

Bacolod traffic policemen identified the fatalitieis as Christian Gabana, 28, of Country Homes Subd., the operations and technical head of ONTV12 of the Neo Communications Channel Net.

Police authorities in Don Salvador Benedicto are in pursuit of the suspects in the shooting of a 40-year old woman by two riding in tandem men about 5:50PM, Thursday at Brgy. Igmaya-an in the town.

PInsp. Celjun D. Nemenio, of Don Salvador Benedicto Police Station said Chona Libo-on, 40, was with her husband Delbert when two unidentified men on board a motorcycle shot at them hitting the victim on the left portion of the chest and right arm.

Local News: 2 Bodies Found in Neg. Occ.

Two bodies were found in Cauayan and Kabankalan cities over the weekend by local police authorities.

Over Cauayan town, Jovil Disapor, 45, a sugarcane worker, of Purok 2, Brgy. Mambugsay, was found dead with struck wounds on the head and back portion of his body.

The victim was discovered about 3AM, Sunday and was also believed to have been strangled to death allegedly by Leo Marcelino, 20, and his brother, Benjie alias Intsik, 22, also of the same place.

The suspected brothers left the scene after the incident and are still at-large. Police are looking into the angle of personal grudges between the involved persons as the motive of the killing.

A motorcycle rider and his 9-year old back rider were hurt in a road accident about 4AM, Sunday at the intersection of Montinola St. and Osmeña Avenue, Brgy. 3 in Victorias City.

Investigation revealed a blue-colored Honda 155 motorcycle with plate number 7550 driven by Jeric Francisco, 21, and his back rider Oniel Inociete, 9, both of Hacienda Amanda, Brgy. 8 were traveling from north to south direction of the highway when it accidentally hit a Fuso Canter dropside with plate number KFP 271 and driven by Alberto Presidentes.
